I had the privilege of speaking at the AI Summit!
When I was first invited, I asked myself whether the audience would connect with my topic. But as I began to speak about the role of AI in education — and more specifically, how we are raising a generation (Gen Alpha) that is AI native while we ourselves are not — it became clear just how relevant and urgent this conversation is.
With over 30 years in education, I’ve seen many shifts, but none as profound as the one AI is bringing into the classroom.
AI can help teachers navigate their work more effectively — from automating curriculum planning to personalizing learning for every student, whether they need extra support or more challenge.
It saves time — time that can be better spent on what matters most: connecting with students and inspiring their growth.
But let me be clear: AI won’t replace teachers. Teachers who use AI might
replace those who don’t.
The future of education lies not in resisting change, but in understanding and guiding it. AI is just a tool — and its value depends entirely on how we choose to use it.
Two years ago, our organization (Karalienės Mortos mokykla, Vaikystės Sodas) was among the first to invite AI experts to help us integrate this technology into our schools. We’re proud to have taken those early steps, and even prouder of the ongoing journey we’re on to prepare our students — and ourselves — for the future.
Let’s keep learning. Let’s keep adapting. Gen Alpha is a generation born to grow up with the AI — it’s our responsibility to meet them there and to make sure they use it to the best of their ability not losing their humanity along the way.
